Reposting this excellent op-ed by Dr. Niall Twohig published in the June 19, 2020 edition of the student-run newspaper, The Triton titled “Justice, Then Peace.” The piece connects the university’s relationship to policing within and beyond the campus, the recent layoffs of over 200 housing and dining workers, and its poor record of addressing anti-Blackness. Dr. Twohig calls on us to exercise our collective power to push back against these policies as we have done in the past.
