The UC Board of Regents, which canceled its meeting last week over fears for public safety, has rescheduled its meeting for Monday, November 28th. The meeting will be held by teleconference at the UC San Francisco, Los Angeles, Davis and Merced campuses. A 90-minute session has been allocated for public comment, but there is no information as to whether the public will be allowed to comment from any of the campuses or just one.
The Regents will be formalizing its request for additional state funds to avoid a tuition hike. From September’s meeting, the Committee on Finance reported that an 8% annual increase will be likely, but if state funding remained flat the increase would 16% per year, or 81% over the next four years. UC tuition has tripled over the past decade.
